Business Is Like a Rollercoaster

Quetta Dee

Starting a new business is like getting on the biggest roller coaster at the amusement park. Your adrenaline is pumping and you're so excited, but the closer you get to actually getting on the more the nerves start to kick in. You begin to come down off of  your adrenaline high and reality hits, then here come the doubts.

Am I sure about this? Should I really be doing this? Because the truth is you are SCARED AS HELL!

The only way to get over that fear is to get on the ride, buckle up, and try to prepare for ups and downs and highs and lows.

Starting a new business from a simple idea is overwhelming to say the least. Most people have million dollar ideas but they are just sitting on them. I've heard all the excuses; I don’t have the money, its too hard, its so much work, I don't know where to start etc. All those are nothing but excuses. That million dollar idea is nothing but a dream without action. I want you to read that again, an idea is NOTHING without action.

You can have all the ideas in the world but until you put some action behind them its useless. You don’t want to be one of those people who see’s their idea on television adored by thousands. You can tell the whole world you thought of it first but it will not matter, because you were still dreaming while somebody else was up working!

The first step to starting a new business is to assemble a team. Yes you will need a team. I don’t care what anybody else has told you one person can not run a successful/growing business. Your team will determine the outcome of your business. When I first decided to put some action into my dream I knew exactly who to contact. I used a business consulting company based here in Los Angeles called gotjasocial.

This was a company I had worked with in the past so I knew I would see results and this wasn’t somebody who would just take their fee and leave me high and dry. They actually CARE about their clients, and now days in business that is very rare. I worked 1 on 1 with Allison for my business start up and I couldn’t be more satisfied. She left no stone unturned. She made sure all details are accounted for and that  I didn’t miss a beat. Whatever she told me  no matter how big or small I listened!! She broke things down in such basic form that a child could understand it. She made me hold myself accountable and made sure I knew which direction to go.

Now don’t get it confused and think you can just pay someone poof you have a business, well you can but it will cost you A LOT! Allison gave me the proper tools and information needed to make my dream a reality. I launched not even a full 30 Days after our first meeting! (remember we launched early)

People always ask me what advice would I give people who want to start a new business and here are a few tips:

Before you ask for help from someone help yourself FIRST! Do your research, find out as much as possible about your new venture. Don’t ask to pick someones brain when you haven’t picked your own

Write a plan and stick to it. Ideas will pop in your head at the most random moments keep something handy to write with, keep post its, and the notes in your phone will be your best friend.

I saved the most important for last work hard!! I know you hear it all the time but you literally get out what you put in. There is no such thing as a part time business owner. If you run your business part time you will see part time results, simple as that. This is not a side hustle or something to make extra cash this is a business and you should run it as such!

Remember you reap what you sow.

I hope you guys enjoyed this read and hopefully it helps someone who is interested in being a new business owner!

  • Thank you for sharing this blog because I enjoy reading them. I often hear people say “I run a business part-time,” and I never really took thought to what it means.

You gave us some powerful words when you said “A part time business gets part time results!”

I love it! Stay true to you, as I know you will, and keep inspiring others. Love you, Boo.

  • I am always inspired by those who take that leap of faith & create their own lanes! This is much needed read. I think this also speaks to believing without a doubt that you can do It! You have to believe in it before anyone else does & Also trust the process! I am launching a brand myself and I have to say, this was definitely a beneficial read.
